Sea-Arama Marineworld was an animal/entertainment park in Galveston, Texas, for 25 years. Opened in 1965 as one of the first ocean theme parks in the nation, it featured more than 25 acres, including a 4 acre ski lake, and a 50 foot long, 200,000 gallon aquarium.

In 1988 it was the number one tourist attraction in Galveston, until the larger more flashy Sea World Park opened in San Antonio, and contributed to its closing in 1990. It remained abandoned until its demolition after 2006. I'm not supposed to present a place that no longer exists...But the pictures are just too good.

Sea-Arama was demolished.

I used to go here all the time and brings friends to check it out! I'm so glad there's pictures here, as it's now gone and we never got pics!

I'm glad you posted this. I used to got to SeaArama when I was a kid. While it's sad to hear that it's completely gone, the photos are beautiful.
